Will updating itunes delete my songs
I am going to update my i Pod to the newest software and was wondering if this will delete the files?
Most of my songs are from my old computer which I now longer have, so I no longer have the songs in i Tunes.
There are currently a couple different ways to reboot i Cloud Music Library: You can use Apple's update method, or manually remove your songs from i Cloud.
Both methods currently require i Tunes and your Mac to do so; you can't reset i Cloud Music Library on your i Phone, though your can turn it off entirely if you so choose.
People updating Apple's music library, i Tunes, to add the new product, are experiencing issues like their songs getting deleted and their software crashing.
Alex Hern (@alexhern), a reporter from the Guardian, tweeted early this morning that installing i Tunes 12.2 had led to the removal of 6,500 songs from his i Cloud Music Library.
If a user experiences this issue they should contact Apple Care.” Pinkstone has been getting mixed messages about whether the deletion was a design feature or a bug.
An Apple support rep first explained to him that users can authorize Apple Music to delete their local music files when it determines that a copy already exists in the Apple Music database.
“In an extremely small number of cases users have reported that music files saved on their computer were removed without their permission,” Apple (aapl) told the site.“We’re taking these reports seriously as we know how important music is to our customers and our teams are focused on identifying the cause. We have not been able to reproduce this issue, however, we’re releasing an update to i Tunes early next week which includes additional safeguards.Others have also taken to Twitter to air their frustrations, with @Jony Ive Parody tweeting Tim Cook and others: “This is something only Apple can do”, alongside an image of his device seemingly getting confused as to whether i Tunes needs to be updated or not.Of course, this is just one manifestation of the problem, with complaints about crashes, freezing and more when mobile device users updating their operating system to i OS 8.4.
