A domestic or dating violence incident takes place every 24 minutes in the U. One in four women and one in seven men are victims of such violence.

Increasingly, we are becoming aware of the scope of the domestic violence problem and the extent to which it can and does impact an individual's mental and physical health, and the overall mental health and well-being of a family.

At The Chicago School, as part of our commitment to provide a safe learning and working environment, implemented the federal Jeanne Clery and Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Acts (Sa VE) to help identify, prevent, and respond to sexual and domestic violence.

Students who experience or are aware of domestic violence are encouraged to speak with our Student Affairs and Human Resources Offices for support on seeking legal protection, medical treatment, counseling, and other supportive services.

The following information is not a legal guide or an exhaustive list—rather it’s a general list of early warning signs for behaviors that are, or could become, violent.
